Delivered But Not Received (India) — Next Steps

App says Delivered but you have no parcel? Verify the courier timeline, check neighbour/security, then escalate to courier and marketplace in India.

If tracking shows Delivered but you do not have the parcel, first confirm the courier timeline (time, location, POD/OTP/photo if shown), then check family/security/neighbour, then open tickets with courier + marketplace using order ID + AWB — do not wait silently hoping it appears.

Step-by-step

  1. Copy Delivered time and remarks

Open the courier timeline for your AWB and note Delivered timestamp, location text, and any POD/OTP/photo indicators.

  2. Check people at the address

Ask family, flatmates, office reception, society security, and nearby neighbours whether a parcel arrived around that time.

  3. Verify OTP / POD / photo

If the app shows OTP used, a signature, or a drop photo, save screenshots and compare them to your door or gate.

  4. Re-read OFD → Delivered gap

Confirm whether status moved from Out for Delivery to Delivered without a believable attempt — still finish local checks first.

  5. Raise a courier ticket with the AWB

Use the courier help or grievance channel shown in their app or site. Share AWB + Delivered time + “not received at address”.

  6. Raise marketplace / seller help

Send order ID + AWB + screenshots via Flipkart, Meesho, Amazon, or seller chat and ask for investigation or nondelivery next steps.

  7. Keep written evidence

Save ticket IDs, chats, and call logs. Escalate only through official in-app or on-site channels — do not rely on random phone numbers.

  8. Track the AWB again after filing

Paste the same AWB below later to see whether remarks change after the courier opens the trace.

Quick answer — what to do in the first hour

Treat a Delivered scan you did not receive as urgent, not as a glitch to ignore. Note the exact Delivered time and any POD remark on the courier timeline, ask everyone who could have taken the parcel (family, flatmates, office reception, society security, neighbour), then raise courier and marketplace tickets the same day with order ID, AWB, and screenshots. Waiting silently makes it harder to prove the parcel never reached you.

What “Delivered” actually means on courier tracking

A Delivered status is a courier scan event — it does not always mean you personally held the box. In India it often means the agent completed an OTP, collected a signature, left the parcel at a gate/reception, or handed it to someone at the address. Read the timeline remarks and any photo/POD before assuming the scan is wrong.

Scan event vs physical possession

The app updates when the courier device records delivery. That can happen at a society gate, office desk, or neighbour’s door even when you were not home.

OTP, POD signature, and delivery photo

If the marketplace or courier app shows OTP used, a signed POD, or a drop photo, save those screens. They are the first evidence support will ask for — and they also tell you where the agent claimed the drop happened.

Step-by-step checklist

Work through these in order. Most “missing” Delivered parcels in apartments and offices turn up with security or a neighbour once you match the scan time to who was available.

Note the delivery time on the timeline

Copy the Delivered timestamp and location text from tracking. Paste the AWB below if the marketplace summary hides the full courier events.

Ask family, flatmates, reception, and security

Call or message everyone who shares the address. Check society security registers and office reception desks — many agents leave parcels there after a gate OTP.

Verify OTP, POD, or delivery photo

Open the courier or marketplace tracking detail. If OTP was already used or a photo shows a different door/tower, note that in your complaint.

Re-read the full timeline (OFD → Delivered)

Look at the gap between Out for Delivery and Delivered. A very short gap with no call, or Delivered while you were clearly elsewhere, supports an early or false scan claim — still verify locally first.

Contact the courier with the AWB

Use the grievance or help channel shown on the courier’s own app or site for that AWB. Share AWB, Delivered time, and that nobody at the address has the parcel.

Contact seller / marketplace with order ID + AWB

Open Help on Flipkart, Meesho, Amazon, or your seller chat. Attach screenshots of the Delivered scan and your local checks. Ask for a shipment investigation or nondelivery claim — follow the path their app shows rather than guessing phone numbers.

Escalate in writing and keep evidence

Keep ticket IDs, chat transcripts, call logs, and photos. Use the marketplace help centre and the courier grievance channel listed in their app or website. Do not rely on unofficial phone lists floating online.

When to wait vs when to complain

If Delivered was only minutes ago, a quick local check (security desk, neighbour, family) is reasonable. If Delivered was hours ago and nobody has the parcel — or COD was already collected / the order is high value — open courier and marketplace tickets the same day. If status is still Out for Delivery rather than Delivered, that is a different problem: see related OFD guides such as /guides/flipkart-out-for-delivery-not-received and /guides/meesho-delivery-failed rather than filing a false-delivery complaint too early.

Common India situations

These patterns show up often on Delhivery, Blue Dart, Ekart, Shadowfax, and XpressBees shipments into apartments, gated societies, and offices.

Delivered to neighbour or guard

Agents often hand over when you miss the call. Ask neighbours on your floor and the building guard with the approximate delivery time from tracking.

Society security or reception desk

Many societies require drops at the gate. Check the security register and CCTV request process your society uses — then mention the register entry in your marketplace ticket if the parcel is still missing.

Wrong house, tower, or wing

Tower/wing mistakes are common in large complexes. Compare the delivery photo or address line on tracking with your exact flat details, then tell support the mismatch clearly.

False or early delivery scan

Sometimes the device is marked Delivered before a real handover. Local checks plus no OTP/photo/signature strengthen your case — escalate with timestamps rather than only saying “not received”.

Status Delivered but agent says coming later

Trust the written timeline and your call log over a verbal promise. If the app already says Delivered, still complete local checks and open tickets so the claim clock starts.

Marketplace-specific next clicks

Use the Help or Order detail flow inside the app you bought from, and keep the same AWB everywhere. Related situations on this site: Flipkart OFD-not-received (/guides/flipkart-out-for-delivery-not-received), Meesho delivery-failed (/guides/meesho-delivery-failed), and Amazon tracking not updating (/guides/amazon-order-not-updating). Those pages cover stuck or failed attempts — this guide is specifically for a Delivered scan when the parcel is still missing. WhereIsMyOrder is not affiliated with Flipkart, Meesho, Amazon, or any courier.

Limitations

WhereIsMyOrder shows courier scans when LIVE lookup works for that carrier. Some couriers block or throttle automated lookup, so always confirm the same AWB on the marketplace order page and the courier’s official tracking page too. This site is not an official courier or marketplace partner and cannot file claims on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

Tracking says Delivered but I have no parcel — what first?

Confirm the Delivered time and POD details on the courier timeline, check security/neighbours/family, then open courier and marketplace tickets the same day with order ID + AWB + screenshots.

Can the courier deliver to my neighbour or guard?

Often yes in India, especially in apartments and gated societies. Ask neighbours and society security with the scan time before assuming the parcel is lost.

OTP was already used but I never shared it — what now?

Save the OTP-used or POD screenshot and mention it in both courier and marketplace tickets. Ask them to investigate an incorrect or unauthorised delivery completion.

How long should I wait after a Delivered scan?

Do a local search immediately. If Delivered was hours ago and nobody has the parcel — or COD/high value is involved — complain the same day rather than waiting overnight.

How is this different from failed delivery or RTO?

Failed delivery / OFD-not-received means the drop did not complete and another attempt or RTO may follow. Delivered-but-not-received means the courier already closed the shipment as delivered — escalate as nondelivery / investigation, not as a simple re-attempt request.

What should I send to support?

Order ID, AWB/tracking number, Delivered timestamp screenshot, any OTP/POD/photo screens, and a short note of who you already checked at the address (security, neighbour, family).
