Most searches happen on mobile, without a courier login, and spike after marketplace dispatch SMS. Free aggregators that pre-select the right courier and support Hindi queries capture growing long-tail traffic.
What 4,072 real tracking lookups show
Aggregate data from tracking numbers entered on WhereIsMyOrder, 7 June – 2 October 2026. About one in seven parcels people were worried about had not been scanned by the courier for two days or more.
- 1 in 7in-transit parcels had no courier scan for 48+ hours when someone checked (13.9% of 1,601)
- 11.5 hrsmedian time since the last courier scan at the moment of a lookup (in-transit parcels)
- 4.0 daysmedian first scan → delivered, for 169 delivered parcels with a full timeline
- 11 AMbusiest lookup hour (IST); 41.6% of first lookups happen between noon and 6 PM

Read these numbers with care
- These are parcels people chose to look up, not a random sample of all Indian shipments. Parcels that cause worry (late, stuck) are likely over-represented.
- Each tracking number is counted once, at its first lookup. Status is what the courier reported at that moment, so the delivered share is not a delivery rate.
- Only couriers where the site shows live status appear; others link to the official tracker and are not in this data.
- Transit times use parcels whose first and delivered scans were both returned. Couriers with fewer than 50 such parcels are not broken out.
- Failed-attempt and return rates are not compared across couriers because carriers label these scans differently.
